As we all know these days the role of a creative has changed. Armed with a Macbook, the Adobe creative suite and a camera you can pretty much do or create anything with the right skill-set and imagination. It’s really up to you and that’s what makes this an exciting time, choosing your dream field, chasing it, working hard for it, creating your own luck and finding a way to get paid for it. Foundry is a place that recognises this. A place that gives you the skills you need to go after those dreams and make them realities.

This campaign embodies the idea that all your life is a collection of experiences that flow through your mind into ideas that you share and take to the world. The idea that creatives change the world around them, by creating new things and innovating the old. 

YOU'RE INVITED

We’re showing how the creative ticks, the journey through the mind that arrives you at the place of an idea. But an idea needs to be better than just what it is. It needs design and creative attention, things Foundry celebrates. The campaign is aspirational and open-ended, inviting you to place yourself within the scenes and see yourself as creative, maybe for the first time.

CREATIVES AS LEADERS

To us, the new creative is an acknowledgement of the changing creative landscape. It recognises the shifting nature of industry and the continuing evolution of design thinking into the fabric of everyday business. 

Creatives are the new leaders of innovation and disruptive thinking in an age of uncertainty around traditional career pathways. They are the people who take the time to look at the world differently and through this often surreal process, find novel solutions to problems. The new creative is about embracing what makes us unique and learning how to channel it into a career.

2018 AND BEYOND

As we launch into 2018 we want to make it clearer than ever that Foundry is for the new creative. We want to teach a new way of thinking about industry, that holds creativity at its centre and we want to partner more strongly to bring about our vision for Tasmania as a creative haven for Australia and a design leader globally. It’s about you, it’s about us, and it’s about the future of the creative industries in Tasmania.
